Paul wrote, “Not that I have already . . . been made
perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold
of me.”- Philippians 3:12 (NIV)
My nephew was born with cerebral palsy as a result of being
born prematurely and receiving too much oxygen to keep his tiny body
alive. Michael has always been a strong
but sweet person. I’ve witnessed his
struggles although he never complained or wanted any sympathy. He has undergone countless painful surgeries
and rehabilitations to reduce the spasms in his legs, to straighten his twisted
ankle and to help his tendons stretch.
When he tried to walk without his leg braces or his crutches he would
often fall trying to get from one short place to another. He learned how to break his fall with his
arms which also caused pain to his wrists, arms and shoulders, and still he
never complained. He also never gave up
hope that he would overcome this condition.
Michael is now 27 yrs. old.
He has become an avid follower of Christ, reads his bible daily, and
prays without ceasing for himself and others. Philippians 3:12 is a reminder to
all of us that none of us are perfect yet.
We are all broken in some way; some that can be seen, and some that
cannot be seen. We all need to press on towards the goal and stand on God’s
word for whatever healing each and every one of us needs. I believe the words Jesus spoke when he
promised us; "the thief cometh not, but for to
steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly.” JOHN 10:10. May you all be blessed with hope and a
stronger faith and conviction in God’s love for us. May you all believe as my
nephew Michael has, that God’s word is true and cannot be changed. We are promised to have life and have it more
abundantly. With Michael’s permission I have attached a link to his video
testimony of how God is healing him today!
After receiving personal divine revelation, he felt inspired by the Holy
Spirit to share his story. Please see
the attached video testimony from Michael himself and witness his progress and
healing!
“nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but
on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” Matthew 5:15
