Older Workers Seeking Employment

Attention:  Perspective Employer

Don’t toss my application because I’m fifty-five
Or assume that I’m too obsolete to help your company thrive

Don’t think that I am frail and weak
I’m capable and fit
Experience has taught me more then a resume can fit.
The college and the high school kids may have their smarts from books,
perhaps they’ll help your image with their added youthful looks.
So pour it in, shake it up, press it down and see
If choosing one because he’s young helps productivity.

It's true you can’t discriminate on race, or sex, or age
There are certain guidelines your decision must engage:
Reliable and punctual
A pleasant attitude
Patience under pressure
Prudence, Fortitude.
My office skills are excellent
My people skills are matched
I’m always eager to learn more
My resume’s attached.
Respectfully,
Theresa Scibelli
